I started my training at BevLyn Dance in Redruth from the age of 4 then successfully auditioned for a place at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance (the year above Kathryn!) graduating with Licentiateship of the Royal Academy of Dance and a Diploma in the Art of Teaching Ballet in 1993. Whilst there I had the privilege of learning from -among others - Dr Susan Cooper, June Mitchell, Holly Price FRAD, Robert Harrold, Pamela May and Norman Morris. During this time I also trained in Contemporary Dance and gained my ISTD Modern teaching qualifications, and a few years later - Tap as well. I have taught in various Dance Schools and FE Colleges across the UK, teaching technique in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary classes as well as choreographing shows, festivals and other events.
I was a dancer in Angela Praed’s C.O.D Contemporary Dance Company for three years - also alongside Kathryn - performing and teaching workshops all over the South West and also in London, and at Glastonbury in 1998.
I am also currently the Ballet Technique Teacher on the Dance and Choreography Degree at Falmouth University, teaching across all of the three year groups.
I have been an Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance since 2007, assessing all levels from Pre-Primary to Advanced 2.
My association with Kathryn goes way back to our late teens! I am delighted to be on the faculty at KR Dance, and continue to feel very fortunate to be teaching for one of my closest friends, who has created such a lovely school.
